CALVARY CHURCH:  Lena V.

Heartfelt Thank You to everyone who donated food and other supplies, who cooked food or desserts, who helped decorate and serve, and who came and ate and donated money at the Boerenkool Supper. We raised $1600 and feel very blessed to be part of this church family.  Remember to keep us all in your prayers this week and we can't wait to tell you all about it when we get back from Haiti.  John, Brenda and Kadee L., Shelly and Paige D., and Jessica W.

A READING EVENT is scheduled for Dance at My Funeral: Dan Steven, a living prophet in a dying age. The book shares the mission of Jan Klooster’s son, Dan, a 1994 graduate of Chatham Christian High School and singer-songwriter who surrendered his life at 25 to God after diagnosis with a brain tumour. It’s the tale of the amazing miracles of God’s grace in a tough, human journey; it’s also an inspiration for parents and grandparents who’ve raised boundary-breaking teenagers, lived with grief, and know its quixotic melding of sorrow and joy.  Jan’s readings will begin at 7:15 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2011 in the CCHS gym at 475 Keil Drive South, Chatham. Refreshments will be served.

MESSIAH: The performance is December 17, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Chatham Capitol Theatre. This year’s performance features The Laudate Dominum Choir, celebrating their 50th Anniversary, the Chatham Christian High School Concert Choir, orchestra and guest soloists, one of whom is CCHS alumni, Suzanne Schaafsma (currently a vocal master’s student at U of T.). Proceeds from this concert will go to “Right to Life” and “Chatham Outreach for Hunger”. Tickets are $10 or $20 (plus service charges) and can be purchased online at www.cktickets.com or in person at the Chatham Cultural Centre Box office during business hours. Come celebrate our Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God and Everlasting Father with us this Christmas season.
