PRAYER LIST


 

CALVARY CHURCH:  John and Rita H. happily announce the marriage of their daughter   Kristina Elaine H. to Robert Harry D. on Saturday, Nov 19, at 6pm. Grace Christian Reformed Church. God is good.

 

FIRST CHURCH:  We want to remember in our prayers Sisca P. who underwent hip replacement surgery this past Thursday.  Bill M. was admitted to the hospital this week and was undergoing tests to identify the cause of some health related issues.  Bill V. awaits surgery for colon cancer in early Dec.   Grace V. completed her stay in the hospital.  Her health is greatly improved.  She is thankful to God and the congregation for prayers and visits, and get well cards.  God is good.

Happy Birthday to Mr. Jack H. who is turning 71 on November 14 and to Mrs. Johanna S. who is turning 79 on November 17.  Have a wonderful day!

 

GRACE CHURCH:  Margaret J. returned home from the hospital on Wednesday and continues to recuperate there.  She has been making progress but it will take a couple of months for her to have a full recovery.  Please pray for patience and healing for Margaret during this time.

Happy belated birthday to those who celebrated birthdays last week: Martin W. turned 78 on the 6th, Freida A. turned 74 on the 6th, Dorothy S. turned 90 on the 7th, Mary D. turned 91 on the 8th, Benna N. turned 70 on the 8th, Jane D. turned 86 on the 9th, and Shena D. turned 76 on the 10th.  We hope you had a blessed day with friends and family.

BLENHEIM CHURCH:  We continue our prayers for Cor and Johanna B.  Cor had some really difficult days in the last week or so and has trouble eating enough.  We pray that the Lord will continue to be present with them and give them strength and assurance.  We pray for Wouter P. as he is in the midst of 7 weeks of radiation therapy.  Beyond the time commitment, he is doing fairly well.  We pray for our students in the USA as some travel home for the Thanksgiving break.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Gift Certificates and Gift Cards: Its one stop shopping and supporting Chatham Christian Schools at the same time.  Do you need gift cards for several different stores?  No need to drive to each one.  Chatham Christian School is open every Thursday from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. Gift cards and gift certificates can be purchased during this time at the school.  They are also available during the bazaar on Friday, Nov.18, 4:30 – 7:30 p.m.   Please note special Christmas orders are due in by Dec.8, 2011.

 

We are having a Concert of Praise on Sunday November 13, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Wallaceburg Christian Reformed Church.  Singing will be the Chatham-Kent's Christian Male Choir and the Sursum Corda Male Chorus.   A freewill offering will be taken for our local Salvation Army and refreshments will be served after.

Ministry to Seafarers, Montreal. Again this year is an opportunity to help this ministry by preparing for distribution to the seafarers Christmas parcels which are accompanied with a Bible in their own language.   FILL a shoe box completely. ENCLOSE a Christmas card  along with a few of the following:  scarf, toque, gloves, socks, writing pad and envelopes, address book, letter opener, ballpoint pens, scissors, scotch tape, calendar, packaged candy, aftershave lotion, handkerchief, face cloth, playing cards, soap, nail clipper, a small souvenir of Canada. WRAP the individual parcels in Christmas wrapping paper. MARK the value of the gift on the top right corner with: “B” for $11-15 or “C” for $16-20. Parcels will be shipped the week of Nov 14/11. From the Chatham Christian School:  Our Annual Winter Bazaar is this Friday Nov 18.  Hope to see everyone there.  Dinner starts at 5pm and The Live auction begins at 7pm. There are lots of games and great things to do.  For everyone who is donating to the baked goods/produce tables please bring items between 6-8pm on Thursday pm, or after 9am Friday am.  Please have all other donations items to the school no later than 11am Friday morning.

The Christian Counselling Centre invites you to join us for a training conference on depression on Friday and Saturday, November 18 & 19, 2011.  Our speaker will be Ed Welch, faculty member and counsellor with the Christian Counselling and Educational Foundation (CCEF).
