PRAYER LIST

 

BLENHEIM CHURCH:  We continue to pray for Margaret V. as she still struggles to cope with her pain.  We also pray for Mike V. who spent about 5 days in the hospital and is now temporarily staying at his daughter Sarah's

 

FIRST CHURCH:  Grace V. continues to remain in hospital.  Case D. has had a difficult week.  He is sleeping most of the day and remains on oxygen.  Al H. continues to receive care at home.  Jackie L. will receive her final treatment this coming week.  A very happy birthday this week to Mrs. Janet H. who will be 70 on Tuesday. Pray for travelling mercies for those going and coming from vacation.  Please pray also for our sick and shut-ins.

 

GRACE CHURCH:  From Bill and Sharon F.: Please remember Ian, Sharlene and Zachary F. in your prayers as Ian has returned to Afghanistan for another tour.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Gift Cards at CCS: The gift card fundraising program at Chatham Christian Schools continues to provide needed funds for the school.  For the 10 months ending Feb.28, sales are $1,326,788.60 raising $58,921.85.

Every gift card used from CCS for your everyday purchases adds up to large numbers.  Your participation is key and we thank you for it.  Gift cards can be purchased on Thursdays from 3:00-4:30 p.m. at CCS.  Go to www.chathamchristian.ca and select TRIP at the bottom for additional information and ways to purchase the gift cards from the school or contact Suzanne W.

 

ORGAN   PLUS   CONCERT:    You are invited to an organ concert at Grace Christian Reformed Church on Saturday April 2nd at 7:30.  The local members of the Royal Canadian College of organists will present a recital with another instrument accompanying the organ. 

 

Please plan to attend the “Classics on a Sunday Afternoon” benefit concert at 2 pm on Sunday, April 3rd at St. Paul’s Congregational Church.  Special guest is Roman Kosarev, principal violist from Windsor Symphony Orchestra.  Other performers include organist Conrad Gold, violinist Kerri Wood, pianists Laura Lowther and Jennifer Bultje and several other local musicians.  Admission is free; a free will offering will be received to help support a local mission team which is going to Zambia, Africa to help build the GEMS Esther School for orphans.  For more information, please call ST. Volleyball for Tim Returns!  This charitable co-ed tournament will return on Saturday, April 16.  This year's event will support Cristian Picard and family.  Cristian is a new member of Calvary and is affected by spastic cerebral palsy.  Proceeds will help his family make their home more wheelchair-accessible.  The tournament will also raise money for disability needs at Chatham Christian Schools, while the concession stand will raise money for youth who will go to Regina on a SERVE mission in July.  Cost is $200 per team, $150 if all players are 18 or under.  For more information or to register go to the Volleyball for Tim Facebook page or contact Ed B., Darlene B., or Elaine W.  Volunteers and corporate sponsors are also welcome.

 

  

BROASTED CHICKEN DINNER:  on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Calvary Christian Reformed Church - 34 Victoria Avenue, Chatham (at the corner of Barthe St and Victoria Av) from 5 to 7 p.m.  $ 14 per meal / $ 7 for ages 6 to 12 / under age 5 is free.  Takeout orders are also available!  For tickets and take-out orders, please call 519-354-4235

 

30 Hour Famine: In recent years, the number of hungry people in the world has increased. For the first time in history, there are more than one billion people who are hungry. Will you do something to lessen the impact of hunger on our world? Sponsor one of CCHS’ 30 Hour Famine participants to make a difference. The money you donate can help World Vision feed starving children, save exploited and trafficked girls, build schools and classrooms, and bring safe drinking water to communities. The GEMS are selling Easter Lilies and Hydrangeas again this year to assist with the cost of sending GEMS to the bi-annual Get Connected Camp. Please help us in this worthy cause! Forms can be found in your Church mailbox, additional forms available in your Church narthex or by contacting Christina .  Forms must be submitted by Monday, March 28th.  Plants can be picked-up at First CRC Friday April 15 3:30pm - 5:30pm or Saturday April 16 10:00am - 12:00noon.  Thanks for your support!

 

Chatham Christian Schools is hosting a Mega Crop and Card making weekend on April 1 and 2 to help raise funds for T.A.F. Please go our our website: www.chathamchristian.ca and click on scrapbook to find all the details about classes to sign up for and registration costs. We are offering classes for women and daughters who have never scrapbooked or made a card before so that you would be able to participate in the special weekend.
