PRAYER LIST

TO ALL CHURCHES:
Congratulations to Brandon & Emily (V.) D. who were united in marriage yesterday.  The wedding took place in Lynden, Washington, which is where they will reside.  God's blessings to them in their future.

FIRST CHURCH:  Please remember our shut-ins, whether confined to their homes or nursing homes.  We continue to remember those who are recuperating, or who continue to battle various illnesses.  Please welcome new members to our church family.  Pray for our vacationers, for a good rest and for safety.

GRACE CHURCH:    Mary H. would like to thank everyone for all the prayers, cards and visits during her recent transition of place of residence. All is going very well and we are very grateful to the Lord.

Please pray for those in our midst who are in the hospital dealing with various situations: John V. remains in the hospital in Chatham waiting to go to London for an operation for an obstruction in his liver.  Eppe B. remains in hospital waiting to go into a nursing home.  And Harry B. will remain in the hospital until next week as he is receiving antibiotics for an infection in his blood.

Please pray for and encourage our shut ins throughout this month: Tina S., Bea V., Mary H., Al B., Irene E., Mary D., Eppe & Margaret B., and others who are going through difficult times.  Happy birthday to Helen B. who is turning 73 on August 9, and to Margaret J. who is turning 74 on August 13.  Have a wonderful day!

GROUNDWORK - The Holy, Sinful, Church: All humans are sinful—Christians as well as non-Christians. And yet the church is holy. How does that seeming contradiction work for individuals or for a local community of faith? The Aug. 14 Groundwork conversation, based on Acts 2:42 and passages from 1 Peter, answers those questions. Find a local radio station or listen online at www.GroundworkOnline.com .

KIDS CORNER - Failsafe: Liz feels like a total failure because everything is going wrong. But Lucille has the perfect solution to failure. Find out what it is on this week’s Kids Corner. Then write to Kids Corner at P.O. Box 5070, Burlington ON L7R3Y8 or go to kids@kidscorner.net  for your very own Bible study.
