BLENHEIM CHURCH:     We look forward to celebrating the birthday of Abe N. this Thursday, April 28th.  This week we pray for our missionaries Dan and Teresa H. as they work in Cameroon.  We pray that everyone may experience the joy of Easter as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior.   

 

FIRST CHURCH:  While we may celebrate Jesus’ triumph over death this Easter Sunday, please remember those who grieve the loss of loved ones.  Grace V. continues to remain in hospital.  Johanna W. is recuperating and receiving therapy at Maple City Care Centre.  Please remember all who suffer and are in need of a visit or a card.  Pray for one another. Happy 80th birthday today to Mr. Case T., may you have a blessed day.

GRACE CHURCH:  We wish you all a Blessed Easter as we celebrate and remember Jesus'
conquering death and his glorious resurrection! Congratulations to Ken S. who is turning 80 on April 26th and to Margaret G. who is turning 85 on April 27th. Have a blessed birthday!

Attention Golfers:  On Saturday June 11 we are having are annual golf tournament for the Chatham Christian School. It will be held at Deer Run Golf Course with a shot gun start at 12:30 P.M. Registration is from 11:00 to 12:00. The cost is 85$ with a 40$ tax receipt. This includes golf, cart, dinner and prizes. If you only come for the dinner the cost is 25$. Dinner will start at 6:00 pm.  To enter a foursome or come as an individual please contact the school at 352-4980.

 

30 Hour Famine:  Thank you to everyone who supported and prayed for those who participated in CCHS’ 30 Hour Famine. With a lot of beverages to sustain us, we made it through 30 hours without food. All the funds that were donated are greatly appreciated and will be used for a wonderful cause.

 

FRIDAY NIGHT WORSHIP CONCERT AND SATURDAY NIGHT INSPIRATIONAL DINNER:  Join us on Friday, April 29th at 7:30 p.m. for an exciting evening of praise and worship with Scott Beda and his band. This concert is FREE, however, there will be a free will offering taken for T.A.F. (Tuition Assistance Fund).  You are also invited to the 22nd Annual CCS Inspirational Dinner on Saturday, April 30th.  After you enjoy the elegant dinner, Scott and the band will perform some intimate worship songs, hymns, and original music from his new CD in a more laid back, acoustic style.  Reservations for the dinner are required before April 26th, by calling the school at 519-352-4980, or emailing janetpilon@chathamchristian.ca.  Donations for T.A.F. will be collected at the dinner and receipts will be issued for gifts over $30.00 per person.  Punch is at 5:30, dinner starts at 6:00 p.m.  You do not want to miss out on these exciting evenings!!

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR FIELD DAY!! It’s that time of year again, folks!! We need your help to make CCS Field Day run smoothly. We are looking for people to either lead a group of energetic children or run an event. The date of this exciting and fun event is Thursday, May 19, 2011. The RAIN DATE is Friday, May 20. If you are interested, please let Marsha V. What we need to know is what you would like to do (either an event or group) and what day you are able to come (Thursday, Friday or both). Thank you so much for considering this, and we hope to hear from you soon. It’s going to be a great day!

 

 RIGHT TO LIFE Kent:  Guest Speaker is Jose (Jojo) Ruba of the Canadian Centre for Bio-ethical Reform on Tuesday, May 3. 5:00pm - 8:00pm at the Portuguese Canadian Social Club, 346 Grand Ave E, Chatham.  Jojo is a co-founder and full-time staffer of the CCBR.
The CCBR is an educational pro-life organization whose mission is to make abortion unthinkable. Their philosophy is that the abortion debate is not going to be won on Parliament Hill until it is won in the hearts and minds of Canadians in communities across the country. Tickets are $35 per person. Doors open at 5:00 pm and dinner is at 6:00. See

THE LAUDAUTE DOMINUM 50TH ANNIVERSARY SPRING CONCERT will be held Saturday May 7, at 7:30 at St Paul’s Congregational Church, 450 Park Ave. W.  Please join us for a great variety of musical highlights from the past as well as some wonderful contemporary selections. There will be a free will offering to cover the cost of the concert.

THE LAUDATE DOMINUM 50TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER will be held May 9, 6-10 pm at Lawson Hall, 304 St. Clair St.  All former members and their spouses are invited to join us for an evening of food, fellowship and fun.  The cost per plate is $15, but alternate arrangements can be made if finances are a hardship.  Please make reservations by April 25 by calling Susie H. or Theresa V.

 

REQUESTED ANNOUNCEMENTS

This year The National March for Life will be taking place in Ottawa on Thursday May 12, 2011. Once again Canadians will be marching on Parliament Hill to bring a message demanding justice and protection for the unborn. Prior to the march a Prayer Service led by Rev. Rev. John Roke.  The service will take place at the Jubilee Canadian Reformed Church, 1876 Merivale Rd, Nepean, ON (just south of Hunt Club Road) at 10:00am on May 12, 2011.  If you have any questions please contact Campaign Life Coalition at 416-204-9749.
