UPCOMING LORD’S SUPPER SERVICES:

We are celebrating Lord’s Supper Sunday October 16 in the am worship service.

PASTOR’S COMMENT:

This past spring, we added an arbour and bird bath to our back yard, and planted wisteria on either side of the arbour.  It has attracted birds which delight us with their chirping and splashing.  What we do not hear is the sound of the vines growing; yet in three months they have covered the arbour.

Jesus compared our lives to branches on a grapevine when he said, “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in me…will be bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”  The vine, with proper feeding and water, will produce a harvest.  So too, the Christian—when we worship him, meditate on his words, find solitude in him, we will be absorbed into his fruit-bearing purpose.
