Prayer of Confession:
All: Gracious God, our
sins are too heavy to carry, too real to
hide, and too deep to undo. Forgive what
our lips tremble to name, and what our
hearts can no longer bear. Set us free from
a past that we cannot change; open us to a
future in which we can be changed; and grant
us grace to grow more and more in your
likeness and image; through Jesus Christ,
the light of the world.
Assurance of Pardon:
“Those who love me, I will deliver, says the
Lord. I will protect those who know my
name. When they call to me I will answer
them. I will be with them in trouble, I
will rescue them and honour them. With long
life I will satisfy them, and show them my
salvation.” (Psalm 91)

5PM COMBINED EVENING WORSHIP SERVICES AT GRACE
CRC:
TONIGHT:
will be led by First CRC. We
continue with our Advent series by turning to Lord’s
Day 13, John 8:31-41, “His Grace Will Set You Free.”

As parents, we often want to buy just the right
Christmas gift for our children—especially if they
have expressed a desire for something particular.
At times, however, parents may get into a dilemma if
they can’t deliver the precise gift the child hoped
for. The world too, waited in expectation of a
Christmas promise; but God didn’t get into a
dilemma; he delivered on that promise by sending his
Son, Jesus Christ. What’s more, we can know 2,000
years after Jesus’ birth, God remains faithful.
Jesus continues to be the greatest gift ever; the
best present our children could receive.
