We call ourselves:
Christian
because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers. We
recognize as fellow-Christians all people who accept the teachings of the
Bible as summarized in the Apostle’s Creed.
Reformed
because we're part of that historic branch of the Christian church that
follows the teachings of 16th-century reformer John Calvin, who struggled
to return Christianity to its biblical roots.
Church
because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world.
We often call ourselves "the First CRC
of Chatham" for short.
Family Worship
SUNDAYS
Two services:
Childcare provided during both
services.
Children ages 3-9 attend Church School.

“Her
children arise and call her blessed . . . a woman
that fears the Lord is to be praised” (Prov.
31). One mother who sought to live out this text
wrote, “When my children were young I thought the
best I could do for them was to give them myself.
So I spared no pain to talk to them, read with them,
teach them, and above all, pray with them.” A young
man, in hearing about the Biblical values of
motherhood said, “I prefer my mother’s version of
the Bible; she translated it into the language of
daily life for me ever since I was old enough to
understand it.” Today we give thanks for godly
mothers and the values they taught us.
